TCA Summer 2013 Press Tour: Hulu Answers The Strange Calls

With TV shows popping on many different platforms besides the networks we all grew up with, it was Hulu’s turn to present its upcoming goods to the TCA this week.
The upstart “channel” announced several new series, but the only one that caught our attention was “The Strange Calls,” described as “part oddball comedy, part mystery.” Read on for the details and to see some clips.
“The Strange Calls” premieres Saturday, October 19th, exclusively on Hulu.com.
Synopsis:
“The Strange Calls” paints a lighthearted portrait of Toby Banks (Toby Truslove) – a lost young man, slowly and un-surely finding his place in the world. Banks, a city cop, is demoted to night duty in the sleepy town of Coolum. He teams up with local eccentric Gregor (Barry Crocker) to investigate the strange calls: bizarre phone calls that expose the paranormal mysteries of the town. These moments of midnight madness reveal the bizarre truth of the town – a place where people turn into chickens, mermen go to the school dance, and a mysterious radio jingle can transform you into a lawn mowing zombie.
