Men Scribe Signs for Timecrimes Remake

Timecrimes remake gets a writerWell, this is interesting … The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Timothy J. Sexton, best known for his Children of Men screenplay, has been brought on board by United Artists to pen the English-language remake of Timecrimes.

Guess I spoke too soon about the lack of remake news today, eh?

For those unaware, Timecrimes is a Spanish brain twister about a man who travels back in time a very short distance to try and stop something bad from happening, and just how many things go wrong in the process.

Thankfully Magnolia has the rights to distribute the original here in the States so if the remake doesn’t go well, at least we’ll be able to see what should’ve been. I’ll be seeing Timecrimes in the next week or two so look for a review soon!

Don’t be too shocked by the Children of Men penner working on a remake; he’s also one of the writers on the long-rumored Logan’s Run redux.

The original ROCKS! It’s really great. I doubt a remake will do it justice.

Heh, Gus. I agree, He should go back and stop that crap from ever being made. I’ll pass on this.

“Didn’t make this already and call it The Butterfly Effect?”

Does kinda sound like it. Maybe the bad thing that this guy has to go back in time to stop is the making of The Butterfly Effect. Saving those of us who saw it a lifetime of emotional trauma.
