Lionsgate Circling Julianne Moore for Key Role in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Parts 1 and 2
Julianne Moore could be joining a juggernaut soon as Lionsgate and director Francis Lawrence are currently eying her for the role of President Alma Coin in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Parts 1 and 2.
Per Deadline, the studio would like to move quickly with Moore starring in both of the final films as the manipulative politician who figures brightly in the finale as Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) becomes a symbol of rebellion against the autocratic Capitol government.
Danny Strong (HBO's "Game Change," which also starred Moore) has been tapped to write the two-part Hunger Games finale Mockingjay. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 will be in theatres on November 21st, 2014, with Part 2 following on November 20th, 2015.
