How does one replace the genius that is Vincent Gallo when he leaves your production because he can’t stand to work next to his ex? You bring in another large-nosed actor and hope no one notices! In the case of Dario Argento’s Giallo, said actor is Adrien Brody (King Kong, Splice).
The Hollywood Reporter got the news that Brody has filled the shoes recently left behind by Gallo, joining Asia Argento (the aforementioned ex) and Ray Liotta. Emmanuelle Seigner (The Ninth Gate) and Elsa Pataky (Snakes on a Plane) have also signed on to Argento’s latest attempt to recapture his glory.
Giallo is about an American flight attendant who teams up with an Italian investigator to try and find her missing sister, the latest victim of a killer known only as Yellow (or, giallo in Italian). Newcomers Jim Agnew and Sean Keller penned the script, which is hopefully a good thing for Argento.
Shooting on Giallo starts in Argento’s favorite city, Torino, Italy, on May 12th. Keep it here for more soon!
