I know most of you reading this who want to see Hideo Nakata’s L: Change the World, the sequel to the Death Note movies, will want to kick me for this, but what can you do? It’s Asian, damnit; I can’t help where it chooses to play next…
Variety learned that the film would be the opening movie for Italy’s Undine Film Festival, which runs April 18th-26th. Nakata, of course, will be on hand to see how the film does, and I sincerely hope it’s a return to form, as it were, for the man who brought us the original Ring, even if it is a completely different kind of movie.
L: Change the World follows the final days of the titular sweets-loving detective, whose bizarre ways help end the killing spree that took place in the Death Note films, which ultimately lead to his death. Sort of.
