The Amityville Asylum To Open StatesideThe latest UK import, The Amityville Asylum, has landed itself US/Canada distribution, and we’ve got all the details you need to get committed right here. If only this could come out at exactly 3:15 AM. How cool would THAT be?

From the Press Release
US distributor Hannover House has acquired North American distribution rights to the independent horror film The Amityville Asylum.

The film focuses on cleaner Lisa Templeton, who experiences supernatural occurrences and intimidation from dangerous patients while working the night shift at a mental institution in Amityville. The film was written, produced, and directed by Welsh filmmaker Andrew Jones. The cast includes Eileen Daly (Razor Blade Smile), Jared Morgan (Vengeance Day), and Sophia Del Pizzo (Lovely Monster). Robert Graham of Independent Moving Pictures served as executive producer. The UK distribution rights have previously been acquired by 4Digital Media, who recently gave the film a limited theatrical release in UK cinemas. MIG Film Group picked up the distribution rights in Germany.

Hannover House is a full service media company, specializing in the production and distribution of feature films onto the DVD format for the North American retail marketplace. Formed in 1993, Hannover House concentrated its activities exclusively in the literary, book-publishing industries until 2003, when the company entered into the DVD marketplace. Now, with over 70 DVD titles in active distribution, Hannover House has quickly ascended to a dominant role as a leading independent distributor of DVDs. The company is particularly noted for its successes in placing DVD titles within mass merchandisers and key chain stores in North America.

North Bank Entertainment is a Wales-based production company that has become one of the most prolific producers of low budget horror films in the UK. They currently produce up to three feature films per year, in collaboration with financiers Independent Moving Pictures, for distribution in the home entertainment marketplace. The company’s next venture will be the production of two feature films, shooting back to back from October to December this year, The Midnight Horror Show and Valley of the Witch.

The deal for The Amityville Asylum was negotiated by North Bank’s Andrew Jones and Eric Parkinson of Hannover House. The film will receive a multi-platform release in North America and Canada later this year.

Writer, producer, and director Andrew Jones said: “We are delighted to be teaming up with Hannover House to bring The Amityville Asylum to North American audiences. Hannover is a great company with a strong track record in the North American marketplace so we are thrilled to be collaborating with them on this film. In the past year North Bank has secured eight distribution deals for three completed horror titles so it‘s a great testament to all involved in our productions that we are consistently producing low budget films with domestic and international appeal.”
