#SDCC14: Behold Rob Zombie’s Assassin’s Creed

The French Revolution is the setting for the upcoming entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Assassin’s Creed Unity. With such a large and historic backdrop for a game, developer Ubisoft wanted to provide fans with a bit of a back story for what has been dubbed “the first next-gen game.”
A short video would have been fine, but they went way beyond the call of duty by having one directed by Rob Zombie. For telling the story of a time filled with death, Zombie is perfectly suited for the task.
Now, before the comments of “Lords of Salem sucked” and “he ruined Halloween” come pouring in, this video is a return to Zombie’s previous modus operandi of sheer, unadulterated, and explicitly pornographic violence. It very much has the feel of The Devil’s Rejects rather than the art house air of his recent work.
