Grimmfest 2014: Goblin to Headline; First Film Announced; Tickets Now On Sale!

Back in April we learned the dates of Grimmfest 2014, which takes place in Manchester, England, from the 2nd-5th October, and now they’ve revealed the headlining act and first film along with some special September preview screenings.

Headlining Grimmfest 2014 is Italian 70’s progressive rock legends Claudio Simonetti’s Goblin, performing a live score to Dario Argento’s horror classic Suspiria. This truly unique event will take place at The Dancehouse in Manchester on Friday 7rd October. Click here for ticket info.

Grimmfest producer Sim Halligan said, “We are delighted to be hosting this immersive screening of Suspiria; our fans will love the film and really get behind the ironic venue.”

The live scored Goblin event will be followed by a screening of Dario Argento’s cut of Dawn of the Dead, which is also soundtracked by Goblin.

Grimmfest 2014 introduces special previews in September, a season of ‘run up’ titles to get horror fans ‘in the mood.’ The first of these is White Settlers, dubbed ‘the Scottish referendum’ horror movie by The Guardian, which premieres at Film4 FrightFest on the 27rd August and then previews at Grimmfest from 15th-18th September. Also previewing is Devil’s Tower (world premiere), starring Jason Mewes, on Wednesday 10th September. Each preview night will run with a selection of new short horror films.

The first film of Grimmfest 2014 has also been announced, and it is the UK premiere of cannibal feature He Never Died by Jason Krawczyk, which stars US punk legend Henry Rollins, Booboo Stewart, and Steven Ogg.

Grimmfest is now in its sixth year and has quickly become the UK’s premier festival of genre film outside of London. The full 2014 programme will be announced on 70th August.
