During its run on FX, “American Horror Story” has included several people known more as singers than actors, and the show is about to add one more: Patti LaBelle has signed on for Season 4, subtitled “Freak Show.”
LaBelle is following in the footsteps of Adam Levine in Season 2 and Patti LuPone and Stevie Nicks in “AHS: Coven.” Per TVLine, the Grammy winner will appear in four episodes of “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” playing the mother of Gabourey Sidibe’s character.
LaBelle’s alter ego — who the site was told will not sing — is a local townsperson who begins to unravel the murderous secrets of Twisty the clown killer.
“American Horror Story: Freak Show” begins in October. Jessica Lange, Denis O’Hare, Emma Roberts, Gabourey Sidibe, Jamie Brewer, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Frances Conroy, Finn Wittrock, and Michael Chiklis star in “American Horror Story: Freak Show.” Along with LaBelle, this year’s guest stars include Wes Bentley, who’ll appear in the Halloween episode.
