From the Press Release:
Get ready to lockdown your October. Zak Bagans, Nick Groff, and Aaron Goodwin – the seasoned experts who have become synonymous with paranormal investigations – return for a brand-new season of Travel Channel’s “Ghost Adventures” on Saturday, October 4, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.

This season launches with lockdown investigations in five iconic locations airing throughout the month of October, including a two-hour Halloween special which investigates the ancient Celtic demons that make up the country’s haunted Halloween history. Season 10 is comprised of thirteen hour-long episodes and one, two-hour special.

“We’re going big this season,” said Zak Bagans, lead investigator. “From the massive Queen Mary ship in California to Ireland’s Leap Castle and Mexico’s Island of the Dolls, each location is embedded with layers of paranormal activity to explore. As Nick, Aaron, and I dig deeper to capture compelling evidence, we’re instituting a variety of new investigation tactics, experiments, and equipment.”

In the season premiere the investigative trio climb aboard the legendary ocean liner Queen Mary, now permanently docked in Long Beach, California, and considered to be one of the most haunted places in the world. Not long after the ship’s maiden voyage in 1936, it was put into military service. Tragedy surrounded the ship – nicknamed the “Gray Ghost” – until 1967, when it dropped anchor for good and became a hotel, still in operation today. Weighing more than 81,000 tons and over three football fields in length, the Queen Mary’s haunted history is as large and looming as the ship itself. With reports of multiple apparitions and voices – including that of a former crewman and little girl – the trio prepare for a powerful investigation. They first conduct a séance to channel the spirit of world renowned psychic and paranormal pioneer Peter James, who used the ship as basecamp for his studies and captured EVPs (electronic voice phenomena) of the little girl named “Jackie.” Inviting EVP specialist Debbie Constantino on the lockdown, the team members split up to investigate the massive ship and are immediately confronted with disembodied voices, intelligent responses, light anomalies, and a figure that will give chills to even the greatest of skeptics.

Additional locations featured this season include:

· Lemp Mansion (St. Louis, Missouri) – Saturday, October 11, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT
Lemp Mansion has been voted one of the top ten most haunted locations in America. This house holds the ghosts of a dynastic family whose members went from rags to riches to madness and horrible death.

· Zozo Demon (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) – Saturday, October 18, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT
Darren Evens claims a terrifying demon named “Zozo” entered his life through a Ouija board at his Hudson Avenue home in Oklahoma City. Seemingly a global phenomenon, “Zozo” has made Evens life so unbearable that he fled the home and hasn’t been back since.

· Island of the Dolls (Xochimico, Mexico) – Saturday, October 25, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT
Near the dark and creepy canals of Xochimico, Mexico, sits what might be the world’s strangest and scariest tourist attraction: the Island of the Dolls (Isla de las Munecas), also home to a sinister – and haunted – mystery.

· Ireland: Celtic Demons – Leap Castle, Hell Fire Club, Loftus Hall (Ireland) – Friday, October 31, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT (Two-Hour Halloween Special)
The roots of Halloween date back to 500 B.C. in the world’s Celtic region. Rich with haunted history, Ireland’s Leap Castle, Hell Fire Club, and Loftus Hall are still believed to be infested by vengeful ghosts, banshees, and other satanic elements.

“Ghost Adventures” is produced by My Tupelo Entertainment for Travel Channel. For My Tupelo the executive producers are Michael Yudin, Joe Townley, Zak Bagans, and Nick Groff. For Travel Channel the executive producer is Daniel A. Schwartz.

Jack Huston and Tessa Ferrer Join Stephen King’s Mr. Mercedes Season 2

Published

on

Three months back we let you guys know that Stephen King’s “Mr. Mercedes” TV series had been renewed for a second season. And today we have some casting news.

Insidious: The Last Key star Tessa Ferrer is set as a series regular opposite Jack Huston, with production set to begin in Charleston, SC next month.

Further info on Ferrer’s character via Deadline tells us, “Ferrer will play Cora Babineau, wife of Dr. Felix Babineau (Huston) and head of marketing at a major pharmaceutical corporation, who’s even more ambitious than she is beautiful. If her husband has a genius for manipulating people from the inside out as he reaches into their brains and rewires them, Cora has a genius for influencing people from the outside in. Her beauty, brains, and force of will, judiciously softened with poise and extreme charm, make her a formidable saleswoman, of whatever she’s peddling.”

What did you think of season 1 of Mr. Mercedes? Let us know below!

The second season will also be based on King’s Bill Hodges Trilogy (“Mr. Mercedes”, “Finders Keepers”, and “End of Watch”) and hits AT&T Audience Network this summer.

Season 1 synopsis:

A demented killer Brady Hartsfield (Harry Treadaway) who taunts a retired police detective Bill Hodges (Brendan Gleeson) with a series of lurid letters and emails, forcing the ex-cop to undertake a private, and potentially felonious, crusade to bring the killer to justice before he is able to strike again.

Razzies 2018: Transformers: The Last Knight Edges Out The Mummy in Nominations!

The Razzie Award

The film industry as a whole has always treated the horror genre like some misshapen creature that they keep tucked away in a closet a la The Brain That Wouldn’t Die. It doesn’t matter how much horror films make at the box office or how many countless moviegoing seasons we’ve saved for Hollywood… hell, the powers-that-be rarely even acknowledge the fact that some horror movies are even horror movies. They’re “psychological thrillers” or some silly jargon like that. Whatever, right?

At least once a year, though, the film industry takes a moment to make fun of itself as a whole. Lord knows they don’t mind including us on these auspicious occasions! In any event… this year’s Golden Raspberry Awards (aka The Razzies) nominees have been announced, and we have them for you below. Jessica Rothe Compares Happy Death Day 2 to Back to the Future

Published

on

One of the best surprises of last year was Blumhouse’s Happy Death Day starring Jessica Rothe as a girl stuck in a Groundhog Day-style time loop where she keeps getting murdered by a masked slasher.

The PG-13 teen horror flick was a blast and I’m looking forward to any news on the possible sequel Happy Death Day 2. Speaking of which, last week Rothe spoke to Collider about the film’s planned sequel and had some very interesting tidbits to drop.

“[Director Chris Landon] has done this incredible thing where the sequel, the way he described it to me, elevates the movie from being a horror movie – and I wouldn’t even say it’s just a horror movie because it’s a horror, comedy, rom-com drama – into a Back to the Future type of genre film where the sequel joins us right from where we left off, it explains a lot of things in the first one that didn’t get explained, and it elevates everything,” Rothe said. “I was really pleased to know that we weren’t just gonna be pushing all the buttons that people loved the first time, over and over again, ‘cause I think that gets old. I’m really excited to see if it comes to fruition and, if it does, what the final product looks like. I hope we get to do it! I had a ball!”

A Back to the Future-style slasher movie?? I’m in. I’m there. Where do I sign up? What did you think of Blumhouse’s Happy Death Day and are you excited about a possible sequel? Let us know below!

The original film was directed by Christopher Landon from a screenplay he wrote with Scott Lobdell. The film stars Jessica Rothe, Israel Broussard, Ruby Modine, Charles Aitken, and Rachel Matthews.

Synopsis:

A college student who relives the day of her murder with both its unexceptional details and terrifying end until she discovers her killer’s identity.
