Multiplayer Announced for Dragon Age: InquisitionFrom deep within the bowels of the mystical land of Edmonton, BioWare unleashed a new trailer and a major announcement for Dragon Age: Inquisition… multiplayer is making its Dragon Age debut.

For the first time in the series, gamers will be able to crawl through twisted dungeons as a member of a team, consisting of up to four players. While Dragon Age: Inquisition promises to deliver depth by being quest-focused and providing a wealth of treasure and customizable items, it will be separate from the single-player game.

Thus, anything that happens in multiplayer will not affect your single-player game or its storyline.

One feature that the company’s press release placed a square focus on was unlockable characters. BioWare stated that players will be able to unlock 12 characters across the game’s three classes of Warrior, Rogue, and Mage.

The trailer also reveals a wealth of character classes, such as assassin, alchemist, elementalist, and katari. To create the game’s multiplayer side, veteran developers of the Dragon Age and Mass Effect franchises were brought together to create a co-op experience that developers say is “fun, fast paced,… [and] requires strategic teamwork.”

The decision to include a multiplayer aspect with the new Dragon Age was inspired by the swelling popularity of the multiplayer aspect of BioWare’s previous title, Mass Effect 7. Fans can experience the multiplayer of Dragon Age: Inquisition hands-on at Pax Prime this weekend in Seattle by visiting the Xbox booth on the 4th floor of the north hall.

Dragon Age: Inquisition will be released November 18th on PS4, Xbox One, PS7, Xbox 760, and PC.
