Scorpio Film Releasing is New England’s most prolific feature film production company, and their latest, The Sins of Dracula, takes on an icon and fuses him with a parody of Christian scare films. What’s not to love? Here are its trailer, poster, and premiere info.
From the Press Release:
Scorpio Film Releasing presents the trailer for its newest film, The Sins of Dracula, a story of sex, sacrilege, and sin from director Richard Griffin, writer Michael Varrati, and producers Ted Marr and Stacey St. Edmunds.
The film will have its world premiere October 26th at CinemaWorld in Lincoln, Rhode Island (622 George Washington Highway).
Michael Thurber (Exhumed), Jamie Dufault (Murder University), Sarah Nicklin (Alice D), Steven O’Broin (Future Justice), Carmine Capobianco (Psychos In Love), and Samantha Acampora (Murder University) star. Artist Devon Whitehead created the original poster for the film.
“I am overjoyed with how The Sins of Dracula came out,” said director Richard Griffin. “The cast is spot on, and Michael Varrati’s screenplay is wickedly satirical. I’ve really wanted to do a Dracula film for years, and to be able to fuse it with a parody of Christian scare films? Well, that’s pure filmmaking bliss.”
The Sins of Dracula centers around Billy (Dufault). As the star of his church choir, there’s nothing that brings Billy more joy than the opportunity to sing for an audience. However, as his desire to perform grows, the stalwart youth finds that waiting until Sunday to get his fix just simply isn’t enough. Going against the advice of his pastor, Billy follows his girlfriend into the world of secular entertainment, joining the local community theatre troupe. There, Billy is introduced to a whole new world, where his fellow thespians dabble in drugs, sexual perversion, and table-top gameplay. Yet, for all the newly minted depravities Billy encounters, none could prepare him for the darkest truth of them all: The theatre group is actually a front for a Satanic cult intent on raising Dracula from the grave! It’s a world where Sondheim is Satan, Broadway means blasphemy, and where taking the stage just might mean curtains… for your eternal soul.
