Last Rites Gets Distro and a New Name

Last Rites of the Dead (click to see it bigger!)Several months ago I reviewed Marc Fratto’s Last Rites of the Dead (review here) and called it “a fun, thought-provoking romp through a modern-day zombie infestation [that] delivers the gooey gore goods by the bucketful.”

Since then, I’ve occasionally wondered if it would ever be picked up for distribution so the rest of you can check it out, too. Well, today, thanks to Fangoria, I got my answer. Not only is Well Go USA releasing the film on May 6th, they’ve also given it a new name: ZA – Zombies Anonymous, which fits in perfectly with its theme of zombies joining a support group to deal with their undead predicament. ZA is just the first of many horror features Well Go will be releasing this year. Cover art and DVD details are still to come; I’m sure we’ll be hearing from the producers at Insane-O-Rama once things have been finalized.

Fango also gives the scoop on upcoming releases Organizm, which premiered on the Sci-Fi Channel as Living Hell (review here); Out of the Blue, which tells the tale of David Gray, who carried out the largest mass murder in New Zealand history; and a few others. Hit up the above link to read the rest, and be sure to befriend Marc Fratto on MySpace and tell him congrats!
