Another actor has joined the cast of Legendary Pictures’ Godzilla, and we have the skinny on who’s gonna be standing tall in the face of carnage caused by a gigantic fire-breathing behemoth.
According to Deadline, Sally Hawkins has nabbed the final lead role in Godzilla, which is filming now in Vancouver, Canada. Hawkins (Happy Go Lucky) will play a scientist alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Ken Watanabe, David Strathairn, Brian Cranston, and Juliette Binoche. Gareth Edwards is directing. Frank Darabont and Dave Callaham wrote the script.
A presentation of Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, Godzilla will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, except in Japan, where it will be distributed by Toho Co., Ltd. Legendary Pictures is a division of Legendary Entertainment.
Slated to open on May 16, 2014, the film is expected to be presented in 3D.
