Get a Sneak Peek of the Upcoming Teaser Trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching FireWhat’s this? A teaser of an upcoming teaser trailer? It must be time for a look at the hotly anticipated The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. After the failure of so many recent films to fill that Twilight tweener void, of course Lionsgate wants to remind everyone about it!

From the Press Release:
MTV has announced that the “2013 MTV Movie Awards,” hosted by rising superstar Rebel Wilson, will exclusively debut the never-before-seen official teaser trailer for the second installment of Lionsgate’s Hunger Games film franchise, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, LIVE on Sunday, April 14, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. To celebrate the premiere, the film’s co-star Liam Hemsworth will officially give the world its first glimpse of the film. The teaser trailer will then be available online at TheHungerGamesExplorer.com, in partnership with Internet Explorer, after it airs on television.

The “2013 MTV Movie Awards” will air across MTV’s global network of more than 60 channels, reaching more than a half-billion households around the world. The debut marks the first footage released of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire ahead of its November theatrical release date.

Synopsis:
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire begins as Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson). Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow (Donald Sutherland) prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is directed by Francis Lawrence and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The novel on which the film is based is the second in a trilogy that has over 50 million copies in print in the U.S. alone. Lionsgate will release The Hunger Games: Catching Fire on November 22, 2013.
