Monsters Vs. Aliens new pic!Aside from some initial early rumblings about what the film will be about, it’s been a while since we heard a peep from Dreamworks Animation regarding Monsters Vs. Aliens. Today their vow of silence was broken to USA Today and a new pic has been revealed.

Advances in digital technology will make Monsters Vs. Aliens the first of a few upcoming animated films to be shown in “Ultimate 3D”, which means, according to animation chief Jeff Katzenberg, that the image on the screen will be perfectly suited with no ghosting or eye strain at all. In other words, it’s going to look amazing.

Resse Witherspoon has joined the voice cast, playing a mild-mannered woman who has the luck of being hit by a meteor on her wedding day, making her grow to exactly 49 feet, 11 ½ inches tall, just shy of 50 feet. Rainn Wilson will lend his voice as the evil alien Gallaxhar, Hugh Laurie will be Dr. Cockroach, Seth Rogen will voice the blob B.O.B. , Will Arnett a half-man/half-ape, Missing Link, Keifer Sutherland will be the voice of General W.R. Monger and Steven Colbert will be the president.

If only that were true; Colbert would be a fantastic president. Dreamworks will be showing off more from Monsters vs. Aliens at ShoWest today, so expect to hear more soon.
