Sid Joins El Superbeasto!

Sid Joins El Superbeasto (click for larger image)Never mind the rumors of T-Rexes, C.H.U.D.s, or even Crom-praying Barbarians. There’s only one Rob Zombie project that’s concrete news, and luckily for fans a very familiar face is coming to his Haunted World of El Superbeasto!

The one and only Sid Haig announced today that he’ll be reprising his role of Captain Spaulding in Rob’s newest animated feature. “It’s good to be able to work with Rob and company again on a film that we all know will stampede through theatres like his past work,” says Haig. “It’s always exciting to work with people who are not only friends, but extremely talented and hard workers as well, because I know that while I’m working my happy ass off, they are doing the same.”

Amen to that!

You're such an inspiration for the ways that I will never, ever choose to be.

Any return of Sid as the Captain is welcome by me.

This reminds me… I just found out that Rob Zombie, of all people, is a friggin’ VEGETARIAN. If that isn’ta a funny fact I don’t know what is.

I forgot to ask: Is this getting a DVD Release, or theatrical release?

“What they are not for is to be used as a means to call anyone out and engage in a silly internet tirade.”

Hah! Okay, point taken UC. Moving on…

  • Uncle Creepy

Comment boxes are here for people to discuss news items. What they are not for is to be used as a means to call anyone out and engage in a silly internet tirade. How about we avoid behavior like that OK, Terminal?

    Thanks.

Or you could put yourself up on a crucifix. And we can pray for your sacrifices. Or you could take down the comments section whenever a Rob Zombie news item is posted. Which would then defeat the purpose wouldn’t it? Damn, what a conundrum.

The comments are here for a reason, last I checked. What’s wrong with people expressing dismay at a filmmaker on the fucking comments that are here for people to express dismay? Unless you’re friends with Rob. Are you? Hmmm…

If you all prefer, Dread Central can be taken off the press loop. Wouldn’t want to upset you fine folks.

  • Terminal

    I hear ya dude.

  • thedudeabides

I must be the only person in the world who is tired of hearing about Rob Zombie or Sid Haig in any of his new projects, which is a shame since I loved Haig in blaxpoitation movies.

  • Terminal

But Zombie insisted “We absolutely won’t not be kind of having Sid Haig in my not movie!” So he must be telling the truth.

  • Uncle Creepy

I hear ya Terminal, but at least now it’s official.

  • Terminal

I didn’t catch on when I saw the picture of Captain Spaulding weeks ago. In either case, I hope this is a good movie.
