Mama Director Takes a Peck at the Bird Box
Coming off the success of his film Mama, director Andy Muschietti has a brand spanking new project already lined up at Universal called Bird Box. Read on for the first details.
THR reports that Universal has optioned the rights to Bird Box, a manuscript written by Josh Malerman, the frontman of rock group The High Strung. Muschietti is in negotiations to helm the adaptation, which would be produced by Scott Stuber, Chris Morgan, and Barbara Muschietti.
Details are scant at the moment, but we can tell you that the story centers on “a blindfolded threesome comprised of a woman and two children who make their way down a river in a seemingly post-apocalyptic setting.”
