Two more have joined the cast of Maverick Films’ redux of the 1987 horror/thriller The Stepfather according to sources over at The Hollywood Reporter this morning.
Jon Tenney, who stars in TNT’s “The Closer” with Kyra Sedgwick, has signed on to play a father who’s trying to reconnect with and protect his teenage son, a role filled by Penn Badgley. Amber Heard, who will eventually be seen in All the Boys Love Mandy Lane when it’s finally released sometime in April, will play the girlfriend to Badgley’s character. Lucky fucker.
J.S. Cardone penned the Stepfather redux script, serving the same duties he did on the Prom Night remake which was also directed by Stepfather helmer Nelson McCormick. The Stepfather is set to go in front of cameras next month so stay tuned for more!
Wish you could protect and serve Amber Heard in the Dread Central forums!
