Former Bond Girl Eva Green Joins Sin City: A Dame to Kill For in Pivotal Role
Finally Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller have found their Ava Lord for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For as it was announced today that former Bond girl Eva Green has signed on for the part.
Per Variety, Green (pictured; Casino Royale, Dark Shadows) will star as the deadly muse Ava Lord, whom Miller describes as "every man's most glorious dreams come true; she's also every man's darkest nightmares."
"We've been wanting to tell this story for a very long time. Ava Lord is one of the most deadly and fascinating residents of Sin City," Rodriguez and Miller stated jointly. "From the start we knew that the actor would need to be able to embody the multifaceted characteristics of this femme fatale, and we found that in Eva Green. We are ecstatic that Eva is joining us."
Green joins the previously announced Mickey Rourke as Marv, Jessica Alba as Nancy, Bruce Willis as Hartigan, Rosario Dawson as Gail, and Jaime King as Goldie/Wendy and newcomers to the fold Josh Brolin as Dwight, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Johnny, Dennis Haysbert as Manute (replacing the late Michael Clarke Duncan), Jamie Chung as Miho, Chris Meloni, Crystal McCahill, Jeremy Piven, Ray Liotta, Julia Garner, and Juno Temple in the Robert Rodriguez directed sequel.
The film will be released by Dimension Films in the US and Canada on October 4, 2013, and is produced by Robert Rodriguez's Quick Draw Productions, Aldamisa, AR Films, Miramax and Solipsist. International sales are through Aldamisa International.
