Daniel Radcliffe Talks Being Burned Alive in Horns and More on Frankenstein

Filming has wrapped on Alexandre Aja's Horns, but that doesn't mean star Daniel Radcliffe has a clear picture of what the finished project will be like. He recently spoke to MTV about both that movie and his continued interest in Max Landis' script for a Frankenstein film.

Here's a little of what Radcliffe said about Horns:

"A few weeks after we finished, I woke up one morning thinking, 'What was that? What was that film I just did?' It's so crazy. I feel like I have less concept of what it's going to be now than when I first started, which is bizarre, but it's very exciting."

As for how "bizarre" it gets, here's an example: "I got to have burn make-up on, and then I got to come out of the Pacific Ocean after having been burned alive and drowned — and I survived that because I'm a boss."

With regard to Frankenstein, Radcliffe confirmed his interest in the film written by Chronicle scribe Max Landis, which would cast him in a hunchbacked, Igor-type role. "I love that script... but to say it's in any way an adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is probably [not accurate]. It's a Max Landis script so anyone familiar with his work [will] have some sense of what that means."

Check out the interview below, and look for more on both projects soon.

Mandalay Pictures’ Horns stars Daniel Radcliffe, Max Minghella, Juno Temple, James Remar, Joe Anderson, and Kelli Garner. Based on the best-selling novel by Joe Hill, Horns is being directed by Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, Piranha 3D, High Tension) from an adapted screenplay by Keith Bunin ("In Treatment"). Producers are Riza Aziz, Joey McFarland, and Mandalay Pictures President Cathy Schulman. Joe Hill and Red Granite’s Joe Gatta are executive producers.

Synopsis:
Horns, a supernatural thriller driven by fantasy, mystery, and romance, follows Ig Perrish (Radcliffe), the number one suspect for the violent rape and murder of his girlfriend, Merrin (Temple). Hungover from a night of hard drinking, Ig awakens one morning to find horns starting to grow from his own head and soon realizes their power drives people to confess their sins and give in to their most selfish and unspeakable impulses – an effective tool in his quest to discover the true circumstances of his late girlfriend’s tragedy and for exacting revenge on her killer.

This rock and roll infused dark fantasy explores why bad things happen to good people and what the loss of true love can do to a man. The widely acclaimed book was on the New York Times best seller list for six weeks and has become an international bestseller as well.
