Marvel Inching Closer to Doctor Strange Movie

We’ve been talking about a possible Doctor Strange movie since August of 2011, and now finally there’s something to report on. Unfortunately it doesn’t sound like we’ll be getting it anytime soon as the powers-that-be are taking baby steps.

According to MTV, Marvel Studios has a lot in store for fans with its wave of Phase Two films: Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World in 2013, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014, and then finally The Avengers 2 in 2015. However, President of Production Kevin Feige is already thinking about Marvel Studios Phase Three.

“‘Doctor Strange,’ which I’ve been talking about for years, is definitely one of them,” Feige said when asked about Phase Three. “He’s a great, original character, and he checks the box off this criteria that I have: He’s totally different from anything else we have, just like ‘Guardians of the Galaxy.’ He’s totally different from anything we’ve done before, as is ‘Ant-Man,’ which keeps us excited.”

That being said… See you in like four years, Doc.

Created in 1963, Doctor Strange is the story of an arrogant surgeon who is injured in a car accident and goes on to become the Sorcerer Supreme of the Marvel universe. Using his magical powers, Strange protects the Earth from attacks from other realms.
