Word came down via MTV over the weekend that not only is the long-gestating film version of Stephen King’s The Mist finally seeing some movement, but some potential casting is finally be discussed.

Thomas Jane (The Punisher, Tripper) mentioned in a recent interview with him that he was in talks with director Frank Darrabont to take the lead role in the film. The story is about a group of townsfolk who become trapped in a grocery store when a mysterious and very deadly mist rolls into down, bringing with it all sorts of unspeakable horror.

The Mist has been a passion project for Darabont for years, he’s never been anything less than enthusiastic about getting it made, so it’s great to hear that it’s both moving closer to reality and that he’s talking to an outspoken horror fan for the lead. You’ll hear more when we do!
