AvP: Requiem DVD Art, Date

Aliens Vs. Preadtor: Requiem art!Fox Home Entertainment has announced a street date of April 15th, 2008, for the DVD of Aliens Vs. Predator: Requiem (review), the little sequel that almost could.

As you know, the story picks up from the last moments of the first “movie” with the Predator ship attacked by the PredAlien hybrid and crashing to Earth. A clean-up Predator is dispatched to make it all go away with blue shit; inept character development and badly-lighted fighting follow.

Fox will release both a standard 2-disc edition and a Blu-ray version with more than 10 minutes of unseen footage edited back into the movie to make it truly “unrated”. There will also be a rated single-disc edition so you can be sure to find it in your local Wal Mart. Features include…

  • “Prepare for War: The Making of AVP-R
  • “Fight to the Finish: The Making of AVP-R
  • AVP-R: The Nightmare Returns – Creating the Aliens”
  • “Crossbreed: The PredAlien”
  • “Building the Predator Homeworld”
  • Still Design Galleries
  • “Designing the Predator”
  • “Designing the Alien”
  • “Designing the PredAlien”
  • On Set: The Rooftop
  • On Set: The Sewer
  • On Set: The Hive
  • On Set: Cast & Crew
  • Theatrical trailers (including Restricted Audience trailer)
  • Now you just have to ask yourself if it’s worth sitting through again to see if those 10 additional minutes make it a better movie!

So I assume the apology from them is a blu ray exclusive.

    • Uncle Creepy

Two discs. Tons of extras. Not a single light.

How about they make a feature called the Rule of Thirds and then show it to the brothers Strause. Maybe then they would be able to create competent composition in their camerawork without having to have destructive closeups on every friggin creature in the film, and be able to stage battle scenes that we can actually see what is going on.

Amazing. There’s not a single special feature called “The Mystery of the Missing Lighting Rig.”
