Long Island’s Second Annual Macabre Faire Film Fest Being Held January 19th and 20th

Long Island’s only film festival catering to the horror, suspense, and thriller genres – the second Macabre Faire Film Festival – will unite filmmakers, actors, producers, and horror fans under one roof for two days of movie madness and awards this coming January 19-20, 2013.

The Macabre Faire Film Festival takes pride in being the first and ONLY film festival on the Island, working hand-in-hand with Long Island’s very own MonsterChannel.tv live streaming program with over 20,000 viewers monthly.
This winter’s Macabre Faire Film Festival will include English subtitled shorts from Spain as well as films from Canada, the UK, Ireland, and the USA. There will also be a special presentation of 20th Century Fox’s House at the End of the Street and a short called Zombie based off the Off Broadway play Zombie from the award-winning novella by famous American author Joyce Carol Oates.
The Macabre Faire Film Festival will feature hours of independent films submitted by dozens of filmmakers from across the globe for their opportunity to have fans and other filmmakers alike embrace their onscreen work(s). The doors are open to press, fans, students, and filmmakers new to the game as well as those who are more seasoned. Students are encouraged to not only submit their films to future Macabre Faire Film Fests but also attend as patrons because doing so will provide them a chance to view festival circuit gems and speak one-on-one with the Faire’s special guests. They can obtain a more in-depth understanding of the independent film industry from different perspectives that will ultimately result in the same outcome: filmmaking. For those who are aspiring to be actors, there could be no better place to meet the director of what could be their first or next movie role.
The location is the Best Western Hotel at 173 Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre, New York 11570. The event begins on Saturday, January 19th, at 1:00 pm, running until 12:00 midnight. On Sunday, January 20th, the hours are 1:00-9:00 pm, with an Awards Ceremony beginning at 8:00 pm that will recognize the following: Best Feature, Best Short, Best Actor, Best Actress, and more.
