Trailer for Short Film The Body Shuffles Off its Mortal Coil Online
The official teaser trailer for The Body, starring Alfie Allen of "Game of Thrones," arrived online; and we have it right here for your viewing pleasure. Check out the sly peek into this short right here.
In addition to Allen, The Body stars Hannah Tointon ("The Inbetweeners"), Jack Gordon (Panic Button) and Christian Brassington (Burke and Hare). It was co-written and produced by Paul Fischer for Ten Cent Adventures (Radioman) and co-written and directed by Paul Davis (Him Indoors).
"It's a movie about facades and how we perceive things," director Davis said. "You never really know what's real and what isn't with the characters in this, and it's made all the more ambiguous under the disguise of Halloween - where everybody is somebody else. We live in such a sophisticated age, which tends to bring out the cynic in a lot of people. If we saw someone dragging a body along the street, we'd immediately assume that it was just a prop. No one would be dragging a real body. They wouldn't be that crazy - and that's the attitude that Alfie Allen's character takes advantage of."
Davis continued, "I'm really pleased with it so far. It looks beautiful; I'm so happy to be working with DoP Eben Bolter again - as well as the rest of the crew who were outstanding! The cast, too, are just brilliant. There are a couple of scenes in there with Alfie and Hannah Tointon that are just mesmerizing and incredibly sweet. The shot we used in the trailer is actually the opening of the movie. We have little lapse cuts in there for time, but in the finished film it will be all one shot with no cuts. We used Act 2, Scene 10 from Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake as my little nod of respect to the Universal horror movies of the Thirties that opened with the very same piece of music - Dracula, The Mummy, Murders in the Rue Morgue. It works well in the trailer, but it has a greater part in the establishment of the character in the finished film."

The Body is the tale of a murderer (Allen) who uses the cover of Halloween night to causally transport his latest victim from the scene of the crime to his final resting place. Wrapping the body in tarpaulin and dragging it through the busy streets of London as a bloody Halloween prop, all goes to plan until an old schoolmate (Brassington) recognizes the murderer and drags him along to a swanky Halloween party nearby, where a chance meeting with a beautiful girl (Tointon) takes his evening on an even bigger turn for the bizarre!
