Author and filmmaker Gregory Lamberson dropped us a line to let us know that in the spring of 2013 he will be producing a new horror comedy, Dry Bones, from a screenplay he wrote for director Michael O’Hear. The film will co-star O’Hear and Melantha Blackthorne.

“I’ve written a number of screenplays for filmmakers who were unable to raise the necessary funding,” Lamberson says. “I really like the script I wrote for Michael so I’m producing it myself to ensure it gets made. Dry Bones tells the story of a man who returns to his home town years after being confined to a mental institution, only to find that the monster he imagined under his bed as a child really exists. It’s a funny throwback to slick 1980s horror comedies like Fright Night and House with a stronger gross-out factor. When it comes to micro-budget films like this and Snow Shark, I’m happy to let others direct. I also like helping first-time filmmakers.”

Blackthorne says of the project: “Michael O’Hear and I have wanted to work together for some time now, and I can’t think of a more fitting project than his directorial debut. The script is brilliantly written by the multi-talented Greg Lamberson, part of an amazing team who genuinely love what they do. I’m excited to jump on board and help bring this project to life.”

O’Hear appears in previous Lamberson projects Snow Shark: Ancient Snow Beastand Slime City Massacre, and speaking of Snow Shark (get more info here), Greg told us that the film, which he co-produced (it was written and directed by Sam Qualiana) is being released on DVD by POP Cinema on February 19th.

Look for more on both of these projects soon!
