Exclusive: Cerina Vincent Talks The Walking Dead: Cold Storage
If anyone can wake the dead, it’s actress Cerina Vincent, whom we chatted with this morning regarding her role on AMC’s “The Walking Dead”-themed webisode series “Cold Storage”. Read on for that and for an exclusive behind-the-scenes still!
Vincent, who as an actress has appeared in scores of films, including the genre flicks Cabin Fever, Return to House on Haunted Hill and the upcoming MoniKa (as well as stints on such mainstream fare as “Two and a Half Men” and “Mike & Molly”), told us of her “Cold Storage” venture, "I am seriously honored to be in any way affiliated with such a brilliant show. I’m a total fan of “The Walking Dead,” so when I found out I was going to be a part of the webisodes I was truly grateful.”
Helmed by make-up effects artist/co-executive producer Greg Nicotero, Vincent said of the four, five-minute segments in which she stars (alongside Josh Stewart of The Collection and Daniel Roebuck), “I did Greg’s short film with him, The United Monster Talent Agency, and was thrilled to be on set with him again. I’m excited for the fans to see the web series!”
“It was a blast to shoot,” Vincent, who also is a writer, having co-authored the Hot Chick book series, continued of the webisodes. “I think everyone will be pleased with “Cold Storage”. Greg is really an incredible director. Of course, the world knows him as an Emmy and Oscar winner as the true master special FX creator, but also he's just as genius of a director. He's a dear friend and one of the most humble, caring, giving players in this biz. I know I sound like I'm gushing, but that’s how I feel. Honored. Blessed. Stoked.”
As for what horror fans can expect of “Cold Storage,” Vincent promised, “Lots of bad-ass zombies, drama, suspense, cool characters and great acting. I play the role of ‘Kelly’ and my role is teased throughout, and then it all comes together in the last episode of the web series. That’s all I’m gonna say.”
We were unsuccessful in gleaning her character’s fate in “Cold Storage,” but here’s hoping Vincent survives the webisodes and transitions into a recurring role on “The Walking Dead” proper.
Cold Storage tells the story of a young man, Chase (played by Josh Stewart), trying to reach his sister in the early days of the zombie apocalypse. He finds temporary shelter in a storage facility run by a former employee named B.J. (Roebuck); however, things are not what they appear.
