Last House Remade Soon…

Last House on the Left remake on the wayAh, this one should be fun to keep an eye one; Wes Craven talked to the Fangoria fiends the other day via Fangoria Radio, and revealed that work on the remake of his Last House on the Left is going along swimmingly.

Hardcore director Dennis Illiadis is helming the redux, a choice I have to say came out of seemingly nowhere. Here’s hoping it’s not just a retread of Craven’s original and actually brings something unique and fresh to the story.

Shooting on the new Last House on the Left will start up in January in South Africa, where the locales are great and our dollar still has some pull. Meanwhile, Craven’s still talking about helming an episode of “Fear Itself” if and when the project happens, as well as a film he’s been throwing around for a while now that will the first thing he’s both written and directed since New Nightmare. Keep it here for updates on all these projects as they come down!

The original Last House was nothing special, there are alot of things that can be fixed.
Hopefully its made by someone thats not afraid of doing something right, like Alexandre Aja did with The Hills

I’m telling the Demon you said that, Sirand.

Didn’t someone remake this a few years ago? I distinctly remember seeing a trailer posted for a remake that was at least 2 minutes long.

Remake should loose the keystone cop comic relief. Still, I have no expectations for this.

“Last House” is horribly overrated. I appreciate the legacy it’s left and all, but the movie is just mediocre, has aged poorly like many of the Craven’s films, and has a ridiculous comedic sub-plot that is horribly shoe-horned into the story. I’m not for a remake, but if they end up improving on it then so be it.
