Lost Anthology Flick Pulsepounders Has Been Found & Restored! H.P. Lovecraft's The Evil Clergyman to World Premiere at Chicago's Flashback Weekend on August 11th!
Chicago-area horror fans, check this out. The fine folks behind Flashback Weekend just made two very cool announcements! Read on for details!
Not only has the lost anthology flick Pulsepounders that has never been seen before by ANYONE finally been located, but a restoration was recently completed and one of the installments from the film is set to have its world premiere on August 11th during Flashback.
Pulsepounders, created by Charles Band in 1987-1988 during the height of Empire Pictures, was comprised of several short films including Trancers: The Unseen Sequel, The Dungeonmaster Sequel and H.P. Lovecraft's The Evil Clergyman, but the film never saw the light of day due to unforeseen circumstances. Band recently rediscovered the anthology and has spent the last year working on restoring all three films so that fans can finally have the opportunity to see them.
The first restoration, The Evil Clergyman, is also set to world premiere during the 10th Annual Flashback Weekend Chicago Horror Convention on August 11th at the Muvico Theaters Rosemont 18. The film reunites Jeffrey Combs, Barbara Crampton and David Gale from Re-Animator and also stars iconic character actor David Warner; Charles Band (composer of Puppet Master and Re-Animator) has even created a new throwback score to accompany the restoration.
Director and Full Moon founder Charles Band, stars Jeffrey Combs and Barbara Crampton, and composer Richard Band will all be on hand to present The Evil Clergyman during the historic screening.
For those of you who are unable to be in Chicago for Flashback Weekend, fear not- a DVD release date of October 9, 2012, is planned for The Evil Clergyman with restorations of Trancers: The Unseen Sequel and The Dungeonmaster Sequel to follow.
