The Images are Red

Jack Ketchum's Red!Lucky McKee & Trygve Allister Diesen’s adaptaion of Jack Ketchum’s Red looks to be coming together nicely. There’s no trailer to speak of, but plenty of stills just surfaced.

Twtich is currently housing the newest batch of images for the film. Not much is revealed, but the dramatic feel of the story looks to be captured. Brian Cox is certainly looking like a man out for revenge over the death of his dog.

Cox will also be joined by many other great names like Robert Englund, Richard Riehle and Hellraiser beauty Ashley Laurence. Red will be hitting Sundance in January ’08, but no word on when it will be hitting a wide theatrical release.

Entertaining Gorefest DOWNRANGE Gets Brutal New Trailer

Published

on

This Thursday Ryuhei Kitamura’s new horror-thriller Downrange hits Sudder exclusively and today we have the film’s brutal new trailer and poster.

I’m counting down the days until I can check the film out myself, especially after our own Jonathan Barkan called the film an Entertaining Gorefest in his TIFF review earlier this year.

You can check out the new poster to the right and the trailer below and then make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

The film is directed Ryuhei Kitamura (The Midnight Meat Train) from a screenplay written by Joey O’Bryan, with a story by O’Bryan and Kitamura. It stars newcomer Kelly Connaire, Stephanie Pearson, Rod Hernandez-Farella, Anthony Kirlew, Alexa Yeames, and Jason Tobias and is produced by Kitamura and Ko Mori, with Taro Maki executive producing.

It lands exclusively on Shudder April 26th. See it theatrically in NYC on April 27 and 28,
with director Ryuhei Kitamura in attendance!

Synopsis:

Six college students are carpooling cross-country when one of their tires blows out on a desolate stretch of country road. Getting out to fix the flat, they quickly discover that this was no accident. The tire was shot out. With their vehicle incapacitated, the group is pinned down and mercilessly attacked by an unseen assailant as they desperately attempt to find a way to escape.

VENOM Trailer is Pure Action Horror

Published

on

Surprise news for those of you still up late as Sony has dropped the first trailer for Venom, their standalone film based on the character of the same name. For those of you who were wondering how this film might stand up in today’s age of “some are good and some are bad” comic book-to-film adaptations, I’m going to lean towards the former. While I’ll try to remain skeptical, something about the way this movie is looking is grabbing my attention and has me quite excited. Apart from the requisite action that all superhero movies have these days, there’s a wonderful amount of horror throughout the trailer.

Check it out for yourself and let us know what you think in the comments!

One of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex and badass characters comes to the big screen, starring Academy Award® nominated actor Tom Hardy as the lethal protector Venom.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer, Venom stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, and Reid Scott. It infects theaters on October 5, 2018.
