Warner Home Video has announced the DVD release date and specs for I Am Legend (review), the long awaited but somewhat disappointing latest adaptation of the Richard Matheson novel of the same name. If it only weren’t for all those damn CG beasts, it could’ve been a lot creepier…
I Am Legend will hit store shelves on March 18th in both one- and two-disc sets, the latter of which is pictured to your right. The single disc will be pretty bare bones, only featuring four animated comics, but the two-disc set comes with the comics and an alternate theatrical cut of the film with a “controversial” ending, whatever that means.
Does Smith’s character just go ape shit and kill the woman and kid? That’d make for some controversy.
Of course HD and Blu-Ray releases will also be out on the same day, but there was no word if either would contain additional features.
Discus what you’d have done differently with the film in the Dread Central forums!
