Five Strokes to Horror!

Five Strokes to MidnightJust got a heads up from horror/fantasy author and friend of the site Christopher Golden about a new collection he’s featured in, and it really seems like something you literate horror fans should check out. The illiterate ones never even got to read this, so feel pity for ’em.

The book is called Five Strokes to Midnight and is the first release from oddly-named publisher Haunted Pelican Press. Within the book’s pages are 13 stories done by five authors, namely Chris Golden, Tom Piccirilli, Gary Braunbeck, Deborah LeBlanc and Hank Schwaeble. Interestingly, one of Braunbeck’s stories, “Listening to Hendrix Sing 1983… (A Merman I Should Turn to Be)” is one of the two stories Gary read for his contribution to Dreadtime Stories (check it out here)! Pretty cool if you ask me.

There’s also an intro done by badass British horror novelist Tim Lebbon and illustrations by the lovely and talented Ashley Laurence, she of Hellraiser fame. So right out of the gate Haunted Pelican has a good pedigree going for them!

Learn more about the book and get your own copy of it at Haunted Pelican Press’ official site!
