More Zombie Action Heading to the Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival
We already told you about the horror/suspense and sci-fi/fantasy films screening during this year's Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival (CCI-IFF), but a couple of zombedies slipped under the radar due to being included in the humor category. We have that info for you now.
All screenings and panels for the CCI-IFF will be held in the Marriott Marquis and Marina, right next door to the Convention Center (next to the Hall A end). The Film Festival will screen in Marriott Hall 2, which is at the far (north) end of the Marriott lobby, outside of the building (follow the signage to get to Marriott Hall 2).
Summer of the Zombies - Friday, July 13th, 3:50-4:15
A charming and clever look at the zombie apocalypse through the eyes of a vegetarian zombie named Summer, whose veggie-loving tendencies are so deep-rooted they stick with her even as she wanders the streets as an aimless ghoul in search of food. From filmmakers Ashleigh Nichols and Eddie Beasley; read our Indie Horror Month 2012 interview with them here.
Rigamortis: A Zombie Love Story - Friday, July 13th, 6:15-7:05
Rigamortis: A Zombie Love Story is a comedic musical short produced by Jenny Stolte and Matt Olson and written by Dave Dewes. Dewes also co-directed the film with Los Angeles director Ted Campbell. The lyrics and music are written by composer/comedian Greg Szydlowski.
Starring Maxwell Glick, Boston Stergis, and Lisa Musser, Rigamortis: A Zombie Love Story observes the aftermath of a zombie outbreak from the perspective of the last two remaining zombies as they sing and dance their way to freedom from an overly determined zombie hunter with a little too much to prove.
Chicago-based production company Collateral Damage Productions, which has produced several award winning features and shorts, utilized micro-funding for this independent short film. Soon after completion the project was picked up by web entertainment distributor powerhouse New Video Group. Rigamortis is now available in HD on the iTunes Store.
After the 36-minute screening there will be a 15-minute question and answer session with Maxwell Glick (Parker), Ted Campbell (Co-Director), Dave Dewes (Co-Writer, Director), and Matt Olson (Producer). All principal cast and crew will be in attendance on Friday as well.
