So far the reviews of Tim Burton’s Sweeney Todd have been overwhelmingly positive and I admit I’m slightly surprised by that. Sure, Burton’s great and working with Johnny Depp’s always been good for him, but something about this adaptation never felt right to me. Once again, shows what I know!
If you’re looking forward to the musical as much as most horror fans, you may want to check out a new companion book we got a heads up about this morning from the folks at England’s Titan Books. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is an official production publication written by Mark Salisbury, who was the only journalist on the film’s set for the whole shoot. Over 200 photos, concept and production designs and interviews with the cast and crew will be found between its lavish hardcover-bound pages.
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is due out from Titan on December 11th. You can pre-order it through Evilshop right here; the best thing is the book is well-priced for such a nice edition so you’ve got no excuse not to grab it!
