Hugh Laurie Gets Evil in RoboCop Redux

Hugh Laurie Gets Evil in RoboCop ReduxA hero is only as good as his villain, and hopefully the new RoboCop will be taking on a force so nefarious that he'll have no choice but to paint the screen red. Or then again it'll probably be rated PG-13, in which case we'll be lucky to get one use of the F word.

Either way THR is reporting that Hugh Laurie ("House M.D.") is in negotiations to play the villain in RoboCop, MGM and Sony’s remake of the classic 1987 sci-fi action movie. If cast, Laurie will play the evil and ultra-rich CEO of OmniCorp, the company that makes RoboCop.

The flick sees Joel Kinnaman ("The Killing") as the title hero, a cop named Alex Murphy who is brought back from the brink of death and turned into a cyborg police officer. Gary Oldman has already been cast as his scientist-creator. Samuel L. Jackson will play Pat Novak, a charismatic media mogul and a powerful force in the RoboCop world.

Currently the film has a tentative release date of August 9th, 2013.

They keep casting actors I like but still I dont want a remake. And if it goes PG-13 that will put the nail in the coffin.
