Ever wonder what’s involved with making a Wesen come to life on NBC’s popular series “Grimm”? Then check out this time-lapse video the network sent over showing how much makeup goes into creating the creatures prior to the special effects being added.

The cast and crew of “Grimm” have already returned to Portland to begin production for Season 2; check out a behind-the-scenes peek below. Inspired by Grimms’ fairy tales, “Grimm” follows Portland homicide Detective Nick Burkhardt, played by David Giuntoli, as he battles supernatural forces. Bitsie Tulloch portrays his fiancée, Juliette Silverton, with Russell Hornsby as his partner, Hank Griffin, and Silas Weir Mitchell as his confidant, Monroe. Reggie Lee and Sasha Roiz co-star. It is produced by Universal Television with Hazy Mills Prods. and GK Prods. Sean Hayes, Todd Milliner, David Greenwalt, Jim Kouf, Naren Shankar, and Norberto Barba are executive producers.
