Full Cast Announced for Hatchet 3All right, Hatchet Army! Here’s the news you have been waiting for! The full cast for Hatchet 3 has been officially announced, and it’s brimming with the kind of talent we’re sure you were hoping for. Read on for the details.

According to Variety, Derek Mears (Friday the 13th), Caroline Williams (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2), Sean Whalen (The People Under the Stairs), Diane Goldner (The Collector), and The FP writer-director-star Jason Trost are set to round out the ensemble cast of Dark Sky Films and ArieScope Pictures’ horror sequel Hatchet 3.

Original Hatchet cameraman BJ McDonnell is making his directorial debut with the film, which stars horror icons Danielle Harris and Kane Hodder as “Bayou Butcher” Victor Crowley. The story finds Harris hunting down the true secret to ending the voodoo curse that has left Crowley’s ghost terrorizing Honey Island Swamp for decades.

I’m overjoyed to be working with this cast,” states McDonnell. “I’ve been on projects with all of them, and I’m so glad to have them be a part of my directorial debut and as the latest members of the ever-growing Hatchet family.

Mears, who recently starred in The Aggression Scale, will play a brooding, pompous SWAT team leader who is sent in to contain the carnage strewn about the haunted swamp. Williams will play a fast-talking journalist who fancies herself an expert on the legend of supernatural stalker Crowley.

Part of the joy in writing these films is being able to write roles with specific actors in mind,” says writer-producer Adam Green, who created the popular slasher franchise. “So many great performers from the genre have asked to be included over the years.

A co-production between MPI/Dark Sky Films and Green’s Los Angeles-based ArieScope Pictures, Hatchet 3 will film near New Orleans from late May to mid June. Dark Sky Films is a subsidiary of MPI Media Group.
