The Keeper of Lost Causes Making the Rounds at Cannes
More murder, mystery, and intrigue will be passing through the hallowed halls of the Cannes Film Market next week as yet another book adaptation will be shopped around. So what's next on the slab? Read on for more.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, TrustNordisk will start pre-sales of The Keeper of Lost Causes, based on the best-selling novel from author Jussi Adler-Olsen, at Cannes. Nikolaj Arcel, the screenwriter for the original The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, and Mikkel Nørgaard, director of Danish box office smash Clown, are teaming up to adapt Adler-Olsen’s book.
The story focuses on two cops who become obsessed with a five-year-old case involving a missing woman. Their investigations lead them on a pan-Scandinavian search for a psycho killer.”
Louise Vesth, whose credits include Lars von Trier’s Melancholia, will produce Lost Causes for Zentropa Entertainments20 in cooperation with Danish broadcaster TV2. Shooting is set to begin in October.
