#SDCC14: The Originals Season 2 Trailer and Highlights from the Panel

Post Thumb:

#SDCC14: The Originals Season 2 Trailer and Highlights from the PanelOn Friday, July 25th, it was The CW’s upstart “The Originals'” turn to hold court in Ballroom 20 at Comic-Con, and along with revealing the Season 2 trailer (which of course you can see here), the powers-that-be provided a few tidbits of what’s ahead in the upcoming season.

The premiere is titled “Rebirth,” and while most the characters will be trying to start over, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) only wants one thing: “violent, bloody, merciless revenge.” Meanwhile, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) will struggle with being a hybrid.

But they may be able to hold their daughter again… We will see Rebekah (Claire Holt) at least one time in Season 2, and it’ll be within the first three episodes. However, the writers are still working out a plan for reuniting baby Hope and her parents.

Look for this season to have, as writer Michael Narducci put it, “a dark, warped fairy tale component.” Davina (Danielle Campbell) will develop feelings for a powerful witch played by newcomer Daniel Sharman, but he may not be trustworthy.

Things really turn explosive when Mikael and Esther return, forcing our heroes to deal with their “monstrous parents” and what that means to them.

As for the inevitable questions about an “Originals”/”Vampire Diaries” crossover and the never-ending Klaus-Caroline shipping, exec producer Julie Plec gave her stock answer of waiting for “an organic opportunity to bring [them] together,” acknowledging there still may be “unfinished business” between the two characters. Personally, I say leave them apart.

In any event, here’s the trailer. Look for lots more soon as we approach the show’s Monday, October 6th, Season 2 premiere.

Who Goes There Podcast: Ep 148 – Inside (2017 Remake)

We’ve all heard the old saying, “in this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.” Well, I’m here to tell you that’s only partially true. It seems there is a third certainty that had been omitted from the original quote, “It is certain, if you enjoy a movie, at some point someone will remake that movie.” Now is the time when one of my favorite movies gets reimagined, “for an American audience”.

In the late 2000’s an explosion of “French extreme” horror films was released. Martyrs and or High Tension can often be found on any number of lists of the “most fucked up horror movies ever”. Unfortunately, the vastly superior Inside is often forgotten (as well as Frontier(s), but that’s a whole ‘nother rant). Now, ten years after it’s initial release, Inside has been Americanized. Don’t worry, we watched it so you don’t have to. You’re welcome.

Mommy says you’re not dead. Is that true? It’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 148!

PG-13 or R? The Strangers: Prey at Night Gets Official MPAA Rating

Earlier this week we let you guys know that there is a killer The Strangers: Prey at Night fan art competition going on and you can read all the details on that right HERE.

But today we have some cool (if expected) news that The Strangers: Prey At Night hs officially received an R-rating from the MPAA.

The sequel has been rated R for “horror violence and terror throughout, and for language” and I think that makes about as much sense as we could have expected.

For those who are interested in such bits of trivia, the original The Strangers was rated R for “violence/terror and language” so there you go! Impress your friends with MPAA trivia.

Would The Strangers: Prey at Night getting a PG-13 have affected your enthusiasm for the upcoming film? Let us know below!

The Stranger: Prey at Night is directed by Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down) from a script by Bryan Bertino and Ben Ketai. It stars Martin Henderson, Christina Hendricks, Bailee Madison, and Lewis Pullman.

The film hits March 9, 2018.

A family’s road trip takes a dangerous turn when they arrive at a secluded mobile home park to stay with some relatives and find it mysteriously deserted. Under the cover of darkness, three masked psychopaths pay them a visit to test the family’s every limit as they struggle to survive. Johannes Roberts directs this horror film inspired by the 2008 smash hit The Strangers.
