TheHorrorShow.TV Picks Up The WomanUK horror-themed VOD platform TheHorrorShow.TV has announced its first foray into physical distribution, having picked up Lucky McKee’s acclaimed The Woman for release on DVD, Blu-ray and Limited Edition Steelbook across the UK on 18 August, sporting a brand new audio commentary!

From the Press Release:
Commenting on the VOD platform’s new venture, TheHorrorShow.TV’s David Hughes said, “Having celebrated our site’s first birthday by uploading our 200th horror film, we are hugely excited about this new acquisition, which heralds our entry into the physical market with a lavish all-formats edition of Lucky McKee’s brilliant 2011 horror film The Woman.”

He added, “Of course, TheHorrorShow.TV is primarily a digital platform, but the physical side of film distribution shows no signs of slowing down, and we want to give horror fans as much choice as possible about how they consume their favourite genre.”

The film’s director, Lucky McKee, commented: “I am delighted THE WOMAN has found a new home in the UK with TheHorrorShow.TV. With this new edition, fans will get a chance to watch the film along with me, as I have recorded a brand new commentary track within the home that inspired the story.”

Andrew van den Houten, who produced the film through his Modernciné company, added: “Modernciné is thrilled to be bringing The Woman back to audiences in the UK with our new partnership with TheHorrorShow.TV.”

TheHorrorShow.TV will offer the film as a digital exclusive and plans to include the film in its forthcoming subscription service, which will make many of the existing 200+ films available at TheHorrorShow.TV – including many digital exclusives – available to subscribers for £4.99 per month.

TheHorrorShow.TV is the UK’s first dedicated Video On-Demand service specialising in horror and fantasy films, offering a selection of genre titles ranging from blockbuster horror hits to cult classics, underground indies and selected short films – all available to stream or download to home computers and Android/iOS-based smart phones.

Could this be the UK’s Netflix for horror once the subscription service kicks off? Only time will tell, but it certainly looks promising!

Giallo Makes A Comeback With Crystal Eyes

Published

on

The giallo genre has somewhat fallen off the radar in recent years, but that’s all about to change with the new Argentinian film Crystal Eyes (original title: Mirada de Cristal). Set in 1985, the film’s about a series of murders taking place in the glamorous and colorful fashion world, so it sounds like a true giallo throwback.

Crystal Eyes was directed by Ezequiel Endelman and Leandro Montejano, and stars Silvia Montanari, Anahí Politi, Erika Boveri, and Claudio Armesto. It screened at both the Mar del Plata International Film Festival and the Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre Film Festival, and received a great audience reception at both. We were sent the trailer for the film along with the poster and a bunch of lobby cards, which we proudly present below.

Investigate The Paranormal In The X-Files: Deep State Mobile Game

Published

on

“The X-Files” franchise will turn 25 next year, and what better way to celebrate than with the launch of a new video game? That’s right, the mobile game The X-Files: Deep State will be released in February 2018, and, in the style of the show, will feature a story about aliens and government conspiracies. The events of the game will take place in the year 2010, between seasons nine and ten of the show.

The X-Files: Deep State is being developed by Creative Mobile Games and will be published by FoxNext, and as with the majority of mobile games these days, will be free to play with in-game purchases.

Meanwhile, season 11 of “The X-Files” TV series will premiere on January 3, 2018. Which may be its last hurrah, because I dread to think what Disney will do with the franchise if they ultimately do end up purchasing 20th Century Fox.
