Has the Oldboy Remake FINALLY Found its Villain in Sharlto Copley?

Has the Oldboy Remake FINALLY Found its Villain in Sharlto Copley? The American remake of the Korean classic Oldboy has had more than its fair share of ups and downs. Thankfully, though, lately there have been more ups. Speaking of which...

Variety is reporting that Sharlto Copley (pictured; District 9) has been offered the villain role in Spike Lee's Oldboy and is in early talks to join Josh Brolin and Elizabeth Olsen in Mandate Pictures' revenge thriller.

If signed, Copley would play a mysterious billionaire out to destroy the protagonist's (Brolin) life, while Olsen will play a caseworker who helps Brolin's character investigate the past.

Look for more on this one as soon as it comes because like it or not, it IS coming!

I'm a big fan of Brolin and Copley. I've just lost faith in Spike Lee as a director.

I rewatched The A Team recently (underrated) and I'd be quite excited to see him playing a villain. After watching Albert Brooks in Drive (Brooks would be another good choice) I'd like to see more actors who've done comedy go villain.
