Synapse Unveils Prom Night Blu-ray SpecsIt was on July 19th of last year when we told you Synapse Films was busy restoring the slasher classic Prom Night as a means to put it out on Blu-ray high definition, and now today the studio has revealed what’s in store for us!

According to Fangoria, Synapse has remastered and restored the Paul Lynch-helmed movie in 2K from the original camera negative, presenting it in 1.78:1 widescreen (1080p hi-def on the Blu-ray), with an all-new 5.1 Surround mix plus the original 2.0 mono sound.

Look for this one in stores and online this September.

In the interim behold Jamie Lee Curtis performing her DANCE OF DISCO FURY™ and wonder how insane it will look in 1080p! SERIOUS BUSINESS!

Special Features

Four Hamilton High School seniors have been hiding the truth of what happened to ten-year-old Robin Hammond for six long years. But someone saw what they did and is preparing for revenge–a prom night killing spree. Hooded, masked, and wielding an axe, he’ll stalk his prey in the dark, empty halls, striking when his victims are alone. And just as the spotlight falls upon the newly crowned king and queen, the killer will show everyone what his favorite game to play is.

“Blu-ray”. I’m looking forward to the return of the editing feature .

It’s a shame Bue Ray can’t turn Prom Night into a better movie. Even Jamie Lee Curtis couldn’t save this boring, poorly shot mess. If it wasn’t for the fact that she was in Halloween and was considered a scream queen, this movie would have faded into obscurity ages ago.
