See the Trailer for Creepers Anthology Segment Gave Up the GhostBack in early May we debuted some exclusive images from “Gave Up the Ghost,” one of the segments in Creepers aka Horror Anthology Movie Vol. 2, and now we’re back with the short film’s trailer and a new still.

From the Press Release:
Author and filmmaker Gregory Lamberson (The Julian Year, Dry Bones) has released the trailer for “Gave Up the Ghost,” a twenty-minute short film that fellow novelist Jeff Strand (Pressure, Dweller) adapted for the screen from his own story.

The short will screen at film festivals beginning this fall and will be released as part of Reel Progress’ anthology Creepers, executive produced by Mike T. Lyddon. The anthology will be comprised of adaptations of literary horror stories. Lyddon adapted Joe Lansdale’s tale “By the Hair of the Head” for the feature, and additional segments include adaptations of Edgar Allan Poe’s “Berenice” and Lafacdio Hearn’s “Promise Broken.”

“Gave Up the Ghost” centers around a frustrated author (Drew Bialy) who loses his latest masterpiece when his computer dies. A repairman (John Renna) offers an unorthodox solution to the problem: summoning the ghost of the computer (Paul McGinnis). The operation is a success, but the patient is already dead. Sam Qualian, Jessica Zwolak, and Alexander McBryde co-star.

The short film is a virtual directory of up-and-coming talent from the booming independent film scene in Buffalo, New York: Renna is in pre- production on his first feature, Dick Johnson and Tommygun vs. The Cannibal Cop, which he wrote and is co-producing and co-directing with Chris Rados; Qualiana’s The Legend of Six Fingers was just released on DVD by POP Cinema; and Zwolak will star in Lamberson’s upcoming horror comedy Killer Rack, which McGinnis wrote.

“This film was a lot of fun to make,” says Lamberson. “Jeff came up for the shoot and then the premiere. We shot the whole thing in two days, and then my post crew – Arick Szymecki, Chris Cosgrave, and Bryan Szymecki – put in an insane amount of hours finishing it. We’ve got a great team in this city, and our best work is yet to come.”
