Jason (Still) Lives at the Bottom of Lake Pleasant!

We recently brought you news about a Jason Voorhees statue that had been lovingly placed at the bottom of Lake Pleasant in Arizona. Constructed by local dive enthusiast Zachary Nagy, the replica’s existence became known to the masses through a popular Reddit thread and viral YouTube video. Unfortunately, fame brought unexpected consequences when it was announced that Park officials planned to remove Mr. Voorhees, considering the work of art little more than litter.

A recent video produced by the New York Post claims the statue has been removed. We’re getting conflicting reports, however, from the folks at Slasher Radio. They’ve talked to Nagy who claims Jason still lives at the bottom of Lake Pleasant! The lake has indeed been dredged for trash, but Mrs. Voorhees’ baby boy has been moved to a deeper location.

In the interview, Nagy reveals that his Jason replica is actually environmentally friendly. But even though the statue remains submerged, its permanence is still in question. That’s why it’s important to show your support by spreading the is news using the hashtag #SaveJason on social media. You can listen to the entire episode of Slasher Radio HERE and peep the viral video below.

Do you think the Arizona Parks Department should remove the Jason Voorhees statue or leave it alone? Sound off in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!
