If the prospect of Nicolas Cage starring in a remake of a Kirk Cameron movie about The Rapture isn’t enough to force you into a state of sheer giddiness, then this new poster for the flick should surely do it. The forthcoming $15 million reboot stars Nicolas Cage, Ashley Tisdale, Chad Michael Murray, Nicky Whelan, Lea Thompson, and Jordin Sparks. According to producer Paul LaLonde, the flick aims to be more mainstream in its sensibilities by weaving End Times “Rapture porn” with traditional disaster movie tropes.

Believe it or not, this one is supposed to be in theatres on October 3rd. We will be there… tissues in hand to wipe the laughter-induced tears from our eyes… for the very first showing. Like a moth to a flame, baby…

Synopsis:
An airborne 747 is heading to London when, without any warning, passengers mysteriously disappear from their seats. Terror and chaos spread not only through the plane but also worldwide as unusual events continue to unfold. For those who have been left behind, the apocalypse has just begun.
