E3 2014: Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor Shows off Nemesis System in New TrailerAs if the upcoming Lord of the Rings game, Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, couldn’t look any more intriguing, Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment released a new trailer for the upcoming game showcasing some of the intricacies of its main selling point, the nemesis system.

The trailer reveals how past encounters will shape later ones as it promises, “The nemesis system contains personal interaction with your unique enemies. Every enemy will remember their encounters with you.

Defeated enemies can be employed to disrupt the forces of later enemies, while foes that have triumphed over you gloat that they have already defeated you. In a press release Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment says of the game’s nemesis system, “Every enemy encountered is distinct and can evolve to become a personal archenemy through the course of the game.” This will provide a unique experience on every play-through of the game as they revealed, “No one else will have an exact same Uruk as the game generates unique, dynamically created enemies.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor takes place on the night of Sauron’s return to Mordor as players embody the role of Tallion, brought back from death by a spirit of vengeance.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor will be available for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PS on October 7th, 2014. It is currently available for pre-order here and below.
