D-VD War

It deserves love, just like a retard. If you saw Dragon Wars and thought it was absolute garbage with zero redeeming values, filmmaking at its crappiest, you would be correct. But if you are like me and found the film to be a lot of fun in the same vein as a 1970’s era Godzilla flick, then you would also be correct. It is indeed both; a modern day Godzilla vs. the Smog Monster, a film worthy of ridicule, scorn, and unconditional love. If you missed out on the D-War experience, mark your calendar for January 8th.

Fangoria reported specs and cover art sent to them courtesy of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment regarding the 1/8/08 DVD release of Shim Hyung-rae’s Korean-American monster mash, Dragon Wars. Presented in both 2.40:1 widescreen and fullscreen with Dolby 5.1 Surround sound, extras will include a storyboard-to-screen featurette, a photo gallery, and another featurette called “500 Years in the Making”, which I assume is a reference to the film’s story and not its actual production schedule that also felt like 500 years.

Retail price is $28.95. The Blu-ray edition will set you back $38.95; UMD will go for $24.94.
