The Weinstein Company continued to make sure that very few horror films slip through their grasp this weekend with the acquisition of three movies from French sales house The Wild Bunch, according to a story in Daily Variety.
Martyrs; about a girl who comes out of a year-long abduction and forms a bond with another girl in recovery, Dorothy Mills; the story of a village plagued by a 15-year old girl believed to have supernatural abilities, and Dante 01; a tale set in a space prison where an inmate infects other prisoners with is monstrous powers, have all been snatched up by the Weinsteins.
Dante 01 was helmed by Delicatessen co-director Marc Caro, marking his first film away from Jean-Pierre Jeunet. Stay tuned for release news as the Weinsteins eventually get around to putting the movies out.
