Before you go getting out your dictionaries – the word “chrysalis” is used to describe an insect at the stage of changing from larva to adult, during which it is inactive and encased in a hard cocoon. This would apply perfectly to a horror movie, yes?

Synopsis
Set 25 years after a deadly bio-terrorist attack transforms much of humanity into vicious, infected creatures, three survivors – Josh, Penelope, and Abira – struggle to rescue any stragglers and make their way out of the dilapidated remains of Chicago.
